Fifth year engineering students after Racing their own creations!
Each individual student had to Research and develop their themed ideas to come up with their final designs.
The students had 10 weeks to manufacture their cars after receiving their brief. They had to take different aspects into consideration, eg. size, weight, material to use, Jointing methods, Electronic Circuits and Components plus the overall aesthetics of the finished Product.
After a lot of hard work and patients, each Students completed very unique designed car and after several trial races the Grand Finale was held on the 11th of April.
Field Trip to IT Tallaght
On the 18th of November the 5th year Engineering students had the opportunity to visit IT Tallaght . The 6th years also had an opportunity to avail of this trip on the 10th of December where David Maguire from the Electronic Engineering Department took the groups for a 2 hour session, giving the students the insight of what it would be like to part take in a college degree course there.
The students all received their own individual pack where they would build their own circuit of two flashing LED's based on the use of an oscillator. They talked about each component and the techniques of soldering and each student was successful in the completion of the project Which they could bring home.
